This Spears schedule 80 PVC union fitting features female NPT threads on both ends, making it suitable for connecting two pipes. The National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads provide a tighter seal compared to straight threads. With three pieces and a threaded connection, this fitting allows for easier screwing and unscrewing to connect or disconnect pipes, eliminating the need for couplings. Constructed of gray PVC, it offers chemical and corrosion resistance, high strength, and is lighter than metal fittings. Additionally, it includes an EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) seal for resistance to oil, water, and some solvents.
