The Spears 1407 series tube fitting is a 90-degree elbow shape made of gray polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic. It is designed for connecting schedule 40 polyethylene (PE) pipe to threaded pipe in compliance with the National Pipe Thread (NPT) standard at an angle. This elbow features a barbed fitting on one end, which creates a tight seal on flexible PE pipe when used with a hose clamp (available for purchase separately). On the other end, it has a female NPT connector that connects to threaded pipe.

PVC is known for its corrosion resistance and high strength. It does not react with acids, gasoline, alcohol, or hydrocarbons. The fitting meets the D 2609 standards set by ASTM International for plastic insert fittings used with PE pipe.
